Book Review: SCARLET by Marissa Meyer

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I am falling in love with this book and while I was reading, I also shocked, cried, satisfied and so much more feelings I just felt.

This book is one of my favorites so far!! I want to give more than 5 stars because Scarlet is just amazing, interesting and I couldn't stop reading this book!

If you love retelling books, you will love the Lunar Chronicles series like me. The first book Cinder is also amazing too but Scarlet is just... I couldn't find a word that how can I describe Scarlet's amazingness. Please. Read!!!

The characters are wonderful. Scarlet is amazing girl. She is strong, determined to find her grandmother and if she wants to do something noone can stop her. She also so cute and pure, she doesn't want to hurt anoyone.

Wolf is a strong character who is appeared with a lot of unknown secrets. We gradually learn his secrets and when I read I shocked, I didn't expect that. Anyway, I don't give any spoilers to you :) He is kinda frightening when he is protecting someone. Like Scarlet. I love the fact that he was so protective for Scarlet.

Cinder is a fugitive now and when she escaped, she had also a new friend: Thorne. I love him! Thorne is so funny, amazing boy and when he jokes, you couln't resist so admit that was funny.

Levana is still the worst character in the series. I hate her and I just want to see Levana and Cinder's fighting for Kai!! Kai must with Cinder because they belong with each other. By the way, I kinda disappointed because we can't see Kai and Cinder's together scenes. That was so bad but anyway, that can't ruin this amazing book.
“A relieved grin filled up Thorne's face. "We're having another moment, aren't we?"
"If by a moment, you mean me not wanting to strangle you for the first time since we met, then I guess we are." Cinder slumped back on the floor. "Although maybe I'm just too exhausted to want to strangle anybody.”
Scarlet and Wolf''s relationship is amazing and this also explains why I loved this book so much. When they are together, you can feel their emotions and attraction between them. I don't remember which was the last book gave me emotions. But Scarlet gave me more than I expected to be.

“I knew they would kill me when they found out, but…” He struggled for words, releasing a sharp breath. “I think I realized that I would rather die because I betrayed them, than live because I betrayed you.”

“But you're the only one, Scarlet. You'll always be the only one.”

The Lunar Chronicle series are so wonderful! I love science-fiction books with dystopia and amazing retellings. This book is so unique from the other books I've just read. So unfamiliar world and satisfied characters. When you started to read, you don't want to leave this amazing and also dangerous world. This book reminds you that reading a book is just not a hobby, it is diving to some other world which is impossible to get real.

Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite authors because she did a really great job who loves fairytale retellings. Thank you Marissa, I loved your imagination and I keep reading all of your books!! :)

“We met less than a week ago and in that time I've done nothing but lie and cheat and betray you. I know. But if you give me a chance...all I want is to protect you. To be near you. For as long as I'm able.”

“If you were a gentleman, you would offer to buy me one as well."
"If you were a lady, you would have waited for me to make the offer.”

“Wolf, are you asking me to be ... your alpha female?"He hesitated.Scarlet couldn't help it - she burst into laughter. "Oh - I'm sorry. That was mean. I know I shouldn't tease you about this."Still grinning, she made to retract her hand, but he was suddenly gripping it, refusing to relinquish the touch. "You just look so scared, like I'm going to disappear any minute. We're stuck on a spaceship, Wolf. I'm not going anywhere." His lips twitched, his nervousness beginning to ease away, though his hand stayed tense over hers."Alpha female," he murmured. "I sort of like that."Beaming, Scarlet gave a mild shrug. "It could grow on me.”

I loved this series so much!! Please read if you love retellings, dystopian, science-fiction books. Because I know that you will not disappoint. :)

Beautiful well-written book with interesting worldbuilding and awesome characters. Scarlet deserve much more than 5-stars but if I have to rate offically, I gave 5/5 stars for this amazing book':)

Book Review: THE WINNER'S CURSE by MARIE RUTKOSKI

Winning what you want may cost you everything you love.
As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions. One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction.
Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin. But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.
Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

One of the most beautiful cover I've ever seen. And by the way this is the important fact to why I read this book. But when I learn the plot and watch the trailer, this beauty is just not by it seem, also it is beautiful by inside.
The plot is mysterious and you couldn't stop your curiousness. When I saw this book in Book Depository, I thought that nothing can stop me for buy this beauty even the price. And I bought it and fell in love! :)
The Winner's Curse is as shady as Game of Thrones and I believe all of Game of Thrones fans will love this book like me.

Kestrel is a Valorian and general's daughter so she has two options; marriage or join the military. But she doesn't plan these things.
She is not as powerful as our young adult badass heroines but she has a powerful strategy and this makes her clever.
I really like and also annoyed her. Liked her because she doesn't need to request for help because she can save her own life easily.
I didn't like her because she sometimes makes wrong choices and especially through the ending. She really annoyed me.

And our second main character is Arin. I love Arin so much! He is so strong and also cute and by the way he sometimes annoyed me like Kestrel. They are my favorite couples and their relationship is so real.
In the beginning of the book, they don't like each other but then gingerly they become friends. And then the friendship is becoming so much more and they just can't stop their feelings for each other. They also appealed the rumors about they are together but they know somethings going on between them. That's so obvious. But this make the book's more realistic and believable love.

“Isn't that what stories do, make real things fake, and fake things real?”

“Arin wondered if she would lift her eyes, but wasn’t worried he would be seen in the garden’s shadows. He knew the law of such things: people in brightly lit places cannot see into the dark.”

“You might not think of me as your friend,' Kestrel told Arin, 'but I think of you as mine.”

“Happiness depends on being free, and freedom depends on being courageous.”

The Winner's Curse's ending is just heartbreaking and impressing. I really recommend this book to all Game of Thrones and high fantasy lovers with romance. It is a really fun, heartberaking, beautiful read for me and The Winner's Curse became one of my favorites so far! I can't wait to read next book The Winner's Crime and it's going out in March!!! Waiting is torture for me.
Anyway, if you love intrigues, romance, plot-twisting, cliffhangers, you will really love this book as much as me. I wanted to make a special review but actually nothing can explain all of my feelings about this book. Don't hesitate, just read!! :)

Here we are. This cover is the Turkish edition of Black Dawn which is the Morganville Vampires Series' 12th book.
PLOT:

But with the invasion of the vampire’s deadliest enemy, Morganville isn’t just in danger—it’s dying…Ever since the draug—mysterious creatures that prey on vampires—took over Morganville, the lives of student Claire Danvers and her friends have been thrown into turmoil. Most of the town’s residents have evacuated, but Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael have chosen to stay and fight.Using the city’s water system to spread, the draug have rapidly multiplied. Things in Morganville look grim, especially since vampire Amelie—the town founder—has been infected by the master draug’s bite.
Now, if Claire and her friends don’t figure out how to cure Amelie and defeat the draug, it looks like Morganville will become little more than a ghost town…

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
First of all, Black Dawn is so emotional book for this reason I can't stop myself for crying. I don't get upset easily for the book but Black Dawn changes that.
In 11th book Vampires the worst enemies: Draugs came to Morganville and kill Claire. Claire is the one who see Magnus- the master Draug- so they don't know firstly who killed her. But then they escued her because of she turned a ghost and Myrnin saved her. At the end of the book Michael bite Eve but he could stop himself.
And in 12th book Black Dawn started Eve's madness and also sadness about happenings. But they can solve the problem with Michael.
In Black Dawn, Shane and Claire's relationship broke down because of Draug's attacking to Shane and they forced him to dream. I am so mad when Shane dreamed but then Shane got in it was a dream so they can't real. It was so bad because Draugs took Shane's reality for this reason Shane can't decide what is real or not. That's just so sad... :(

ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD by Kendare Blake - Review

It has to be a long-review because I am in love with this book and I can't wait for share my feelings with you.

First of all I want to list my feelings about this book and then character analize, and I am warning you, take care of yourself because in this post-review, we're talking about Anna Korlov who dressed in blood..

  • First of all, this book includes horror, young adult, fantasy and sweety romance.
  • Anna Korlov is the ghost who lives in a strange house and killing the people who came to her house. This story is not telling by Anna, our storyteller is Cas. For the curious ones; Cas's full name is Cassio Theseus Lowood. Yes, I mean that's too long and I want to pick the first one.
  • Anna Dressed in Blood is the first book in the Anna Dressed in Blood series and written by Kendare Blake.
First and the second books:
And these are my feelings:
  • I loved this book. I never read a book like that before. I mean; this book contains a lot of creepy scenes and eerie. But I liked the characters, plot, author's writing style and humors.
  • The story begins like Cas tries to kill one ghost who is in his car and take his to the bridge where his the place died. And the action begins. With a full of humor. I love Cas's sense of humor.
  • But our the most important ghost is: Anna Korlov. She is a badass therewithal she has so emotional story too. She doesn't want to be like that. Never. But when Cas cames, something change and what does Cas do? Helping for Anna to save her or killing Anna to do his job? I don't give any spoilers about that so if you want to learn, read it! :)

Character Analize:
ANNA KORLOV
  • Cas Lowood: He is a ghost-killer who always travel the world for his job. His job cames from his dad, and he has started to do his job since her father died. He wants to kill the ghosts for his dad and he wants to save the innocent people. He takes a job to kill Anna Korlov but this is more difficult than he thought. Cas is so sweet and I love the romance between Cas and Anna. So sweet but by the way; weird. :)
  • Anna Korlov: She died badly in 1958 and she has killed the people who enters her house since 1958. But when we learned her story, we know she didn't want to do bad things and I think she deserve a good life. My favorite character is Anna of course.
  • Thomas: He is Cas Lowood's best friend. Firstly I don't like him but then I like him. :)
  • Carmel: Beautiful princess and if she wants, she becomes a badass too. I like her and I want to get curious about the romance between Carmel and Thomas.
  • Will: Annoyable character. That's it.
ANNA AND CAS
THE BOOK:

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
Yet she spares Cas's life.

When the film begins, I wondered about the movie because my expectations is in high level. But I think this film is amazing, I love the casting- especially Kellan Lutz- and the fighting scenes are so good. This film is worth to watch, always I am saying this is my opinion. Everyone can't love this movie as much as me and I accept everybod'y opinion. If you watch this film, you can add your thoughts in comment both good or bad :)

Review: SENTINEL by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Sentinel by Jennifer Armentrout

Jennifer Armentrout is well-known and very talented writer who writes about Greek mythology, new adult, fantasy and romance. And Sentinel is the last book in Covenant series. I am very sad for Covenant series is over but Jennifer will going to publish a spin-off series about side character: Seth. And there is going to be a New Adult book, not a Young Adult as Covenant series books. This is going to be a very good experience because I love Seth as much as Aiden and I can't wait to read his point of view.

Previous Books in Covenant Series

I am going to write my review with my short thoughts. Don't worry, I don't give any spoilers.

  • First of all, I think Sentinel is one of the most excited books I've ever read. Let me say like this, All Covenant series books are excited. But my favorite is the third book, Deity.
  • Jennifer did a very good job to how this series gonna be end. I love the ending. The last 30 pages are so emotional, heartbreaking and BAM! I am shocked by the way in ending,,,AWESOME!
  • Yes, this review maybe contains fangirling because I am going to talk about two awesome guys! Oh,come oon! :)
  • The best part of the book is Aiden and Seth.
  • Aiden is very handsome, brave, protective, lover, sweet and whatever good term about boys. He has all goodness and he loves Alex very much..
  • Seth is a bad guy but he has a great heart. He is always going to be humiliated and lonely. I love him in Sentinel but I want to add in the previous books he is a little bit annoyed me. But when he shows up in Sentinel and tell everything of what he's done and what he's done in the ending.. I fell in love with him again! I can't wait for reading his own thoughts in new adult form. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
  • By the way I love Apollo, especially raid parts to Alex&Aiden :))
My review is that. I love that book and I miss Aiden and Alex but I am so happy to read an awesome series like this and thanks to Jennifer for amazing ending!

THE BODY FINDER by Kimberly Derting REVIEW

The Body Finder blew me away to another world. I can feel it easily. All chapters have a thrilling atmosphere. I think I have another favorite series now :)
The mix of thriller and romance. I love both of them,,so? I adored The Body Finder.
Also Jay is the major piece of why I loved this book. He is so sweet and charming, and also sexy. I annoyed Violet a little because she can't understand thay he loves her too.
Typical YA-girl...
By the way thrilling chapters about killer is so exciting and as awesome as the romance parts. Opps, I take my word back. Romance parts are always best!
By the way Violet's power is interesting too. But I want to learn more about powers. I want to start Dead Silence(second book) as soon as possible.
I recommend The Body Finder to all of thriller lovers, romance lovers and YA-lovers!

SUMMARY:

Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world... and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer... and becoming his prey herself.

DARKFEVER BY KAREN MARIE MONING BOOK REVIEW

Look, I love Urban Fantasy. Really! But that's...amazing!! Fever is higher for my expextations and my thoughts. I add Fever into my favorites so far :)

I give five stars for this book. I want to say why:
1-Jericho Barrons: Do you surprise? I always loved bad boys in books. So we have a bad boy in Fever series! I will admit that he is so mysterious and you want to learn and curious about WHO is he! (Yes, I am too.)

2-Badass main character: I love Mac. She is powerful with pink clothes and she doesn't give up. I hate the characters who is always crying and begging for help and falling in love with some guy and acting like she is noone except him. So she never acts like that and I am so glad that Karen Marie Moning give us a stunning characters with bravery, mysterious and all about urban-fantasy.

3- Different mythologies: At first I don't understand the creatures and Kelt mythology but whatever..I am glad that learn other different mythology. Interesting :)

Well-written book with fantasy, mystery and full action.
I really loved this book and I have a second book- Blood Fever too. I can't wait for continuing Mac and Barrons adventure. More Barrons, please? :))
“I love books, by the way, way more than movies. Movies tell you what to think. A good book lets you choose a few thoughts for yourself.”- Mac

Dark Fever Plot:
MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….
